Curiosities of Yesteryear
See and touch everyday items from our past in the “Curiosities of Yesteryear” Exhibit now on display at the Horace Greeley House.
Exhibit Location: Horace Greeley House
Exhibit Year: 2015
Stop by the Curiosities of Yesteryear Exhibit to see and touch everyday objects used by men, women, and children throughout the 19th and early 20th centuries!
The exhibit features over 50 items from the New Castle Historical Society’s Collection and others that are on loan to us from our friends. Some of the items on display include a typewriter, an oil lamp, a food chopper, a “Candlestick” telephone, and a commode – all devices and tools that we continue to use today in their modern forms.
With the speed in which technology changes today, it is important for us to remember the ways in which these inventions have evolved over time. This exhibit will surely provide you with a direct connection to our shared past!
