Fall Featured Artist 2026: Sarah Wry
On view September 5 – October 31
New Castle Historical Society launches its Fall Featured Artist series with Botanicals & Birds, an exhibition of recent works by Chappaqua artist Sarah Wry.
Wry’s detailed watercolors depict local plants, fungi, songbirds, and birds of prey seen throughout the backyards and wild landscapes of the Hudson Valley. A selection of Wry’s process sketches and some of the source material that inspires her work are displayed alongside the paintings, as well as books and archival documents from the NCHS collection.
Exhibited in the rooms of the historic Greeley House, an early 1850s farmhouse listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Wry’s works evoke a timeless quality that connects past and present.
